An auditor is a student who completes all registration requirements but does not have any record kept of attendance or academic work.  No grade is given for the course audited. 

A student taking a course(s) as an auditor waives all rights to take that course(s) for credit in the present or in the future. 

NJ CPAs qualify for up to 45 CPE credits for each three-credit class audited.  

CFPs may also qualify for CE credits, but are advised to check with CFP Board of Standards (Tel: 303-839-0664).  

Subject to availability of seats, alumni of the MST program may audit classes at FDU for a fee of $370.00 (for 2004-2005)(This is of 1/2 a 1 credit charge),  plus any fees associated with the particular course. No permission is needed from the program director.

Others who are attorneys, CPAs and CFPs (but not alumni of the MST program) may audit a class for a fee of $740.00 (for 2004-2005)(This is a charge for 1 credit class) but only upon prior permission from the program director and subject to availability of seats. 

The fee for senior citizen is $125.00. 

In all cases, registration priority is given to the current matriculated tax students. Accordingly, auditors are not registered to a class until shortly before classes begin. 

Auditors may, however,  submit their registration forms in advance to the Graduate Student Center. The forms will be held in abeyance and will not be processed until the day before the semester starts. 

Auditors should call the Graduate Student Center  one or two days before the semester begins to determine their status. The phone number for that office is 973-443-8800. 

The three (3) forms that need to be filled out and submitted are listed below. All three forms are now posted on the MST web site. 

Once completed and signed, call the Graduate Student Center to determine their latest procedures: whether these forms should be mailed, faxed or have to be brought in person to the Graduate Student Center.
