Walter Cummins has close to 100 stories in such magazines as Kansas Quarterly, Other Voices, Crosscurrents, Florida Review, Green Hills Literary Lantern, South Carolina Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Confrontation, and on the Internet. His story collections are titled Witness and Where We Live. Early in his career, he published two novels, A Stranger to the Deed and Into Temptation. He also has published essays, articles, and reviews. From 1983 to 2002 Cummins served as editor-in-chief of The Literary Review: An International Journal of Contemporary Writing. He is now editor emeritus.

A chapbook of his stories is available on Web del Sol. With Thomas E. Kennedy, he is co-author of The Literary Traveler (Del Sol Press), and with George Gordon, co-author of Programming Our Lives: Television and American Identity (Prager)..
