Academic Standards

The on-line MSEE program will have the same admission requirements, academic standards, and evaluation processes as the existing campus-based program. The program will be offered and administered by the School of Computer Sciences and Engineering within University College: Arts · Science · Professional Studies, one of the four colleges at the University.

Lecture notes (including mathematical equations and graphical presentations) are posted weekly at our web site. Homework assignments are also provided regularly to evaluate student performance. Students can submit assignments by mail, e-mail, or by fax. Ongoing communication and guidance via the electronic forum, e-mail, fax, and telephone are available from the faculty throughout the program.

Grading is based on homework assignments, projects, participation in the electronic forum, and exams. Students may be given take-home exams, exams over the Internet, and/or "in-class" exams. Students may take "in-class" exams at any FDU location including the Metropolitan Campus, College at Florham and the Extension Site at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, NJ. In addition, with prior SCSE approval, a student may nominate a proctor who could be a teacher, school principal, or personnel director and take an "in-class" exam supervised by the proctor at a convenient location.

The faculty for this program will be the same full-time and part-time faculty currently teaching in the conventional MSEE program.
