CATHY LIGGETT,
A.T.C., Head Athletic Trainer
Named
Fairleigh Dickinson University's Head Athletic Trainer on August 19,
1998, Cathy Liggett took over the training responsibilities for the
Knights' 15-sport Division I athletics department after nine years
of service as the assistant trainer. In her 11th year within the Knights
athletics department, Liggett also chairs the Physical Education/Fitness
Department in University College. She also assists the Department
of Academic and Student-Athelete Support Services in scheduling seminars,
workshops and speakers on various subjects including nutrition, alcohol,
tobacco and addictions. Liggett came to FDU in 1990 after graduating
from Keene State College in 1988 with a degree in physical education
and sports medicine. She served as the assistant athletic trainer
for nine years to longtime trainer Paul Grayner, who announced his
resignation in August, 1998. Working specifically with the men's soccer
and basketball teams, Liggett's commitment to the well-being of FDU's
student-athletes is unsurpassed. As proof of this, in the fall of
1999 Liggett expanded the training room to include an in-house rehabilitation
station for the increased attention in each student-athlete's rehabilitation
from their injuries.
JAMES REIDY, A.T.C., Asst. Athletic Trainer
Reidy
is currently finishing his Masters Degree at Ithaca College in Ithaca,
N.Y. At Ithaca, Reidy has worked with the football, tennis and swimming
teams, supervised student-athletic trainers and had teaching responsibilities.
Reidy has six-years of experience at the collegiate and high school
levels. He completed his undergraduate work at Canisius College in
Buffalo, N.Y. while working in the Golden Griffins' athletics department
for four years.
SVEN LILIENTHAL,
A.T.C., Asst. Athletic Trainer
Lilienthal
completed his undergraduate work at Montclair State University. There
he worked with the softball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, football,
wrestling, and basketball teams as a student trainer. Upon graduation,
he took a job as an aide at the Marlboro Physical Therapy Center for
three years. He also volunteered as a trainer at Monmouth University.
Lilienthal is a New Jersey native and currently resides in Howell,
NJ.
