FDU Baseball Falls to Northern Illinois, 17-1
A.J. DiMichele collects two hits for Knights. 

Bradenton, Fla. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team fell by a score of 17-1 at the hands of Northern Illinois this afternoon.  The Knights’ record dropped to 1-7 on the year.
            After the Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning the Knights got one back in the bottom of the first.  Travis Alderman led the inning off with a double down the left field line.  A.J. DiMichele moved him over with a sacrifice bunt and two pitches later Alderman scored on a balk.
            Northern Illinois got the run back in the third inning and tacked on three more in the fourth and single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take an 8-1 lead.  The Huskies then sealed the game with four runs in the eighth and five in the ninth.
            DiMichele collected two hits on the day for Fairleigh Dickinson.  Pat Geroni and Lavese Youmans each added singles.
            Fairleigh Dickinson returns to action on Monday, March 18th against Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m.
