TEANECK,
N.J. – The Fairleigh
Dickinson University baseball team will welcome Nick Mauro (Nutley,
N.J./Nutley) who will attend Fairleigh Dickinson and compete for the
Knights beginning next fall. Mauro is the first member of the
class of 2006 to commit to the Knights. Mauro,
a 6-foot-1, 185-lb. pitcher/outfielder, is a three-year varsity letter
winner for Nutley. Currently
he has led his squad to a 20-6 record, a NNJIL Divisional title and a
no. 16 ranking in the state. On
the mound Mauro has posted a 5-1 record as a senior, a .525
batting average with four home runs and 20 runs batted in and earlier
this year collected his 100th career hit. His efforts on the
diamond have produced three straight years as an All-League, All-County

student-athlete coming from a successful program,” said head coach Dennis
Sasso. “He’s been a
senior leader and we look forward to him joining our program.” Fairleigh Dickinson
