Fairleigh Dickinson Men’s Golf Picked 11th in NEC Pre-season Poll

Teaneck, N.J. –  The Fairleigh Dickinson University men’s golf team has been picked to finish 11th in the Northeast Conference (NEC), according to a poll of league head coaches.  Three-time defending champion UMBC was tabbed to take home a fourth straight title, garnering five of 11 first place votes.

Second-year head coach Joe Wisniewski returns three letterwinners from last year’s team that finished 11th at the NEC Championships.  The Knights’ top returner is Mark Dunne, a junior from Dublin, Ireland.  Dunne led the team with a 84.95 strokes per round average in 2000-01.

The Knights are currently in action at the American Invitational in Fredericksburg, Va.  They will compete again on Wednesday, April 3rd against Rider in Burlington, N.J.  The 2002 NEC Championship is slated for April 29-30, in Hollidaysburg, Pa.
