1999 Hall of Fame Inductee
Franklin Jacobs

Headlining the inaugural class is former track and field standout and world-record holder FRANKLIN JACOBS '79. Jacobs, who stands just 5-7, stunned the world at the 1978 Millrose Games when he set the world indoor high jump record at Madison Square Garden with a jump of 7' 7.25". Jacobs was a three-time NCAA Champion in the high jump while at FDU and was one of the United States' brightest hopes to bring home a gold medal heading into the 1980 Olympics, which the U.S. eventually boycotted.
