Headlining the inaugural class is former track and field standout and
world-record holder FRANKLIN JACOBS '79. Jacobs, who stands just 5-7,
stunned the world at the 1978 Millrose Games when he set the world indoor
high jump record at Madison Square Garden with a jump of 7' 7.25".
Jacobs was a three-time NCAA Champion in the high jump while at FDU
and was one of the United States' brightest hopes to bring home a gold
medal heading into the 1980 Olympics, which the U.S. eventually boycotted.
