Solomon Chebor

Fairleigh Dickinson University's most decorated distance runner, SOLOMON CHEBOR '82, becomes the fifth inductee with ties to the FDU track and field team indicted into the Hall of Fame. Chebor is a 10-time All-American who earned the honors in cross country, the 3,000 meters, the 5,000 meters and the steeplechase. Chebor graduated from FDU with 11 school records ranging from the two mile to the 10,000 meters. He was a two-time NCAA Individual Champion, winning the indoor three mile in 1980 and the 1981 steeplechase. He was one of the top-ranked steeplechase competitors in the world in 1981 and added a third-place finish in the 1981 NCAA Cross Country Championship and finished 25th in the 1981 New York City Marathon ‹ his first-ever marathon race.
