Men's soccer record holder and three-time All-American MICHAEL KING '86 is the second inductee into this year's class. King is FDU's only team-sport athlete to earn multiple All-American accolades. King holds six FDU records and is the career leader in goals scored and points scored. King led the Knights to three-straight NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament appearances in his freshman, sophomore and juniors seniors. As a freshman in 1982, King scored a school-record 31 goals, which ranks in the top-10 in the NCAAšs record books, and helped the Knights to a 14-5-2 overall record. He notched 23 goals as a sophomore as FDU posted a 21-3 record and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. That year, the Knights achieved a final national ranking of #6. As a junior in 1984, the Knights achieved a final ranking of #3 in the nation behind Kingšs team-leading 52 points and a record of 19-2-3. King finished his career with school records of 87 goals and 206 points. He ranks second on FDU's career list with 32 assists and in his four years, the Knights posted a record of 65-17-9 (0.764). |
