TED LEVINE '72 was
one of FDU's top wrestlers and wrestling coaches. He was named the athletics
department's Outstanding Male Athlete as a senior and twice qualified
for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. As a junior, Levine finished second
at the Metropolitan Championships at 115 pounds, losing on an injury
default. His senior year he won the Met title at 115 pounds. Levine
was a member of the U.S. silver-medal-winning Maccabiah Games team in
1969. He won the U.S. National Title and held the No. 1 ranking in his
weight class at the Olympic Trials before and injury forced him to withdraw.
After graduation, Levine served as an assistant coach at FDU until 1988
‹ the final year of the wrestling program at FDU ‹ earning Co-Metropolitan
Coach of the Year honors in 1987.
