The next member of this year's induction class is fencing standout MADELINE MIYAMOTO '63. One of the top fencers in Fairleigh Dickinson University history, Miyamoto became just the second FDU fencer to win an individual NCAA Fencing Championship. As a freshman in 1960, Miyamoto won the NCAA Individual Fencing Championship and helped FDU to its first-ever National Team Championship with a perfect 13-0 record. She helped FDU to back-to-back national runner-up finishes as a sophomore and junior. As a senior in 1963, FDU won its second National Championship in four years. The Knights won behind the fencing of Miyamoto, who became the first, and the only FDU fencer, to win two Individual National Championships. |
