2000 Hall of Fame Inductee
Stacey Recanati

Headlining this year's class is Hackensack native and current FDU women's volleyball coach STACEY RECANATI '90. Recanati will become the youngest member of the two-year-old Division I Hall of Fame at next week's induction. The 1990 graduate was a standout on the volleyball team in arguably its strongest period of competition. Recanati was a three-time All-Northeast Conference selection in her four-year FDU career and was named the NEC's Player of the Year as a sophomore in 1987 and again as a senior in 1989. She helped lead the Knights to three consecutive Northeast Conference Volleyball Championships from 1987 through 1989 and a 1989 bid to the Women's Volleyball Invitational Tournament. In her four years, Recanati's Knights posted a record of 122-54. Recanati, a standout player at Hackensack High School, was named to The Bergen Record's All-Decade Volleyball team for the 1980s and received honorable mention accolades from the Newark Star-Ledger in their all-century wrap-up. Two years after graduating from FDU, she took over the reigns of the FDU program as Head Volleyball Coach. In nine seasons as head coach, Recanati has posted a 106-190 overall record and a 42-31 mark in NEC play. The 1998 Northeast Conference Coach of the Year, Recanati has led her alma mater to success in the Northeast Conference. Twice in the last four years, FDU has finished runner-up at the NEC Tournament, including a 1998 championship-match appearance.
