Hartford Takes Fairleigh Dickinson Men’s Basketball, 73-56
Iman Mattox scores 19 for Knights.

West Hartford, Conn. – The University of Hartford defeated the Fairleigh Dickinson men’s basketball team, 73-56, this afternoon.  The Knights fell to 0-8 on the season with the loss.  Hartford improved to 2-7.

The Knights trailed by as many as 13 in the first half at 21-8, but rallied with a 19-4 run to take a 27-25 lead at the break.  Hartford rebounded in the second frame, outscoring the Knights 48-29, and shooting 67 percent from the floor in the half.

The Knights led 42-36 with 12:26 left in the second half, but the Hawks ended a 34-15 Fairleigh Dickinson run by scoring 37 of the final 51 points in the game. The Hawks shot 48 percent from the floor for the game and held Fairleigh Dickinson to 34 percent.  Hartford out-rebounded the Knights 40-30, despite Fairleigh Dickinson gathering 12 offensive boards in the game.

The Knights were led by junior Iman Mattox, who scored 19 points and pulled in eight rebounds.  Sophomore guard Mensah Peterson added 10 points in the loss. The Hawks were led by junior forward Junior Amous who had 22 points and eight rebounds.  Junior Pierre Johnson added 17 points and 10 boards.

The Knights return to action on December 13th, when they take on Seton Hall at the Continental Airlines Arena with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
