FDU’s James Felton Named to News12 NJ Dream Team
Knights’ center one of five chosen as the best in the Garden State.

TEANECK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson’s, James Felton (Jersey City, N.J.) has been named to News12 New Jersey’s 2002 New Jersey Dream Team for college basketball.  News12 New Jersey selected five players, one at each position, as the best in the state.  The team was announced on Sunday night. Felton was joined by point guard Andre Barrett (Seton Hall), shooting guard Jerome Coleman (Rutgers), small forward Ricky Shields (Rutgers) and power forward Mario Porter (Rider).

            Felton, a 6-foot-10 senior center, finished up his campaign with team-leading marks of 20.5 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. He saved his most memorable performance for his final contest at the Rothman Center against Long Island where he netted a career-high 41 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Felton's 41 points against the Blackbirds was the highest single game total by an NEC player this year.

            Since joining the Knights last year, he averaged almost 18 points per game and nearly seven rebounds per contest. Felton posted five double-doubles during his 25 games with the Knights, posted three 30-point performances and reached double-digits in scoring in 21 of those games.
