Fairleigh Dickinson Men's Soccer Blanks UMBC, 1-0, in NEC Tourney
Knights one win away from NCAA bid.

Hamden, Conn. – Number two seed Fairleigh Dickinson University (13-6-0) defeated third seed UMBC (9-6-2) by a score of 1-0, in the semi-finals of the Northeast Conference men's soccer tournament today.  The Knights are now one win away from earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Junior forward Aaron Paye's (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) goal on an assist by junior midfielder Johnny David (Hillside, N.J.) in the 36th minute was all the Knights needed to advance to the championship game.  Senior goalkeeper Vytautas Lenkutis (Vilnius, Lithuania) preserved the shutout, his sixth of the year, by making seven saves, several from point-blank range.

The Knights will look to capture their second straight NEC Tournament crown on Sunday, November 11th.  They will face fourth seeded Long Island (8-6-4) at 12:00 p.m. in Hamden, Conn.  The Blackbirds knocked off top seed Robert Morris, 3-2, in the other semi-final match.
