Fairleigh Dickinson Men’s Soccer to participate in College Cup
Knights will play at Giants Stadium on April 27.

TEANECK, N.J. –The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team has been invited to play in the NY/NJ Metro Stars College Cup this April, with first round action taking place on April 24th and the championship/consolation round on April 27.

On Wednesday, April 24th, Fairleigh Dickinson will play Rutgers University at 1:00 pm, while Fairfield and Long Island will follow at 5:00 pm. Both opening round games will take place at Rutgers. The consolation game will open competition on the 27th at 1:30 p.m., with the championship game following at 4:00 p.m. The games on April 27th will be played at Giants Stadium, prior to the Metro Stars game against the San Jose Earthquakes at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets can be reserved by calling head coach Seth Roland at (201) 692-2247.

The Knights are coming off a Cinderella season this past fall, which saw them make a run to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.  Fairleigh Dickinson repeated as both NEC regular season and tournament champions, before pulling off consecutive upsets of Boston College, Princeton and Seton Hall in the NCAA tourney to advance to the quarterfinals.  The Knights fell 3-2 to North Carolina, but not before taking the eventual national champions into triple overtime and finishing with a 17-7 overall record and a #11 national ranking.
