Rutgers Takes FDU Men's Soccer in Penalty Kicks
Knights fall 3-1 in PKs at MetroStars College Cup semifinals.

Piscataway, N.J. –After a scoreless regulation, the Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team fell 3-1 in penalty kicks to Rutgers in the semifinals of the MetroStars College Cup. The Knights will next take on NEC foe Long Island in the consolation game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Giants Stadium.  Rutgers will meet Fairfield in the championship game at 4:00 p.m.
In an experimental format for the spring, no overtime was played.  Rutgers went 3-for-4 on its penalty kick attempts, while the Knights went 1-for-4, with their lone conversion coming from Dirceu Hurtado (Totowa, N.J.) who found the lower left corner on the first shot.
The Knights played well throughout regulation, but were missing several key players, including NSCAA Third Team All-American Aaron Paye (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) who was out with a thigh injury.

Fans buying tickets to the College Cup finals at Giants Stadium can also watch the MetroStars and San Jose Earthquakes MLS game at 7:30 p.m. ET. One ticket will give you access to all three soccer games on April 27. For special ticket information, fans and alumni can call Garrett Caldwell at 201-583-7026.
