Fairleigh Dickinson Men's Soccer Falls to Seton Hall, 4-1
Sergio Riquelme scores for Knights; Vytautas Lenkutis makes nine stops.

S. ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall University (4-1-1) scored twice in each half to hand the Fairleigh Dickinson University (4-5-0) men's soccer team a 4-1 loss today in a battle of intra-state rivals.  Phil Swenda scored twice, including the game-winner, for the Pirates who were ranked 11th in the nation two weeks ago.

Swenda gave Seton Hall a 1-0 lead at the 23:31 mark as he connected on a bicycle kick after Knights' goalkeeper Vytautas Lenkutis (Vilnius, Lithuania) had made two straight point blank saves, but Swenda found the net on the third.  The Knights responded just four minutes and nine seconds later when Sergio Riquelme (Montreal, Quebec) blasted a direct kick from about 30 yards out into the upper left corner to knot the game at 1-1.  Seton Hall got a late first half goal from Swenda to head into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

After the break the Pirates quickly went up 3-1 on a header by Luke Serafin in the 48th minute.  They added one more in the 84th minute to seal the game at 4-1.

Lenkutis finished the game with nine saves, including several point blank shots to keep the Knights in striking distance.  Alex McDonald made three stops for Seton Hall.

"The first half was like a chess match," said Knights' head coach Seth Roland. "Our tactics were okay, we were organized and solid.  Then they got a goal, we came right back and then gave one back.  We let in a soft goal at the start of the second half, had some opportunities with about 10 minutes to go and then they got another.  We learned some things today and hopefully we'll benefit from them in the future."

The Knights will return to action on Sunday, September 30, when they travel to take on Monmouth at 2:30 p.m. in a key Northeast Conference contest.
