Ann Gulino
Associate Director
of Athletics

Ann Gulino has served as Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Associate Director of Athletics since 1986, overseeing the day-to-day running of the athletics department as well as carrying out the responsibilities of compliance, team scheduling and travel. She served as the department’s acting director for the 1997-98 athletic year, which saw the men’s basketball and tennis teams crowned NEC champs.

As Senior Women’s Administrator of the Fairleigh Dickinson University athletics department which has had six student-athletes named NEC Scholar-Athletes in their respective sports in the last four years, Gulino coordinated and guided the department and university through the 1997 NCAA certification process. She is involved in all aspects of team and student-athlete compliance with the University, NEC and NCAA, serving as the University’s liaison with the NCAA’s Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse. Gulino, with Faculty Representative Richard Panicucci, assisted in the creation of Fairleigh Dickinson’s Athletics Academic Monitoring Program.

Gulino serves as the liaison between the athletics department and Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Financial Aid, Admissions, Residence Life, Enrollment Services, Advisement Center and Food Services offices. She also represents the university at conference, local, state and national meetings. Gulino is presently the Knights’ representative and committee chairperson on the Northeast Conference Senior Women’s Administrator Committee, which coordinates conference championships and recommends changes in conference rules.

She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators and a past member of the NEC Women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis, and marketing committees. Recently Gulino was named to a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet.

Prior to joining Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1986, Gulino served as Assistant Softball Coach, Assistant Director of Athletics and Athletic Academic Advisor at Long Island University from 1981-86. She was responsible for administering and managing the day-to-day aspects of LIU’s athletics department, as well as directing eligibility certification and managing home events. Gulino also assisted in the initiation and development of a varsity softball program which won the 1985 New York State Title and one league crown.

Gulino is married to Tom Thompson a Client Services Associate with Dreyfus Financial Services. They have a nine-year-old daughter, Kelly.
