Men's DMR Qualifies for IC4As With Win at Met Championships

NEW YORK, NY -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's track teams competed at the Metropolitan Championships with several Knights improving their season bests.  The men's distance medley relay team posted the only win for the Knights, taking 10 points in a time of 10:14.00, qualifying for IC4As.

Aidan Walsh improved this season's best mile time with a 5th place finish in the event in 4:12.29.  Duncan Bitok had the highest individual finish this weekend with a 4th place finish in the 3000m in 8:39.54.  William Murphy rounded out the Knights' scorers on the men's side, finishing in 6th in the 60m hurdles (8.47 seconds).

On the women's side Calicia Burke improved her time in the 200m (26.29) and 400m (58.66), just out of scoring range in each event.  Fredyla Urena finished in 7th in the mile in 5:14.91 and 6th in the 3000m in 10:31.10.  Melanie Porterfield posted the highest women's individual finish with a 4th place finish in the 60m hurdles in 9.10 seconds.

The teams return to action at the Second Annual Armory Collegiate Invitational on Friday, February 8th and Saturday, February 9th before competing at the NEC Championships the following weekend.
