Open Outdoor Season at VCU Invitational RICHMOND, VA – The Fairleigh Dickinson University men’s and women's track and field teams opened their outdoor season at the Virginia Commonwealth Invitational. Dana
White posted a personal best and ECAC-qualifying mark in the
women's shot put: 14.15 meters (46-5.25). Her distance was also
good to win the event. She also finished eighth in the 100m
hurdles, running 16.18 in finals after a 15.66 time in
preliminaries. White also helped the 4x100 relay to a fifth
place finish (49.77) and ran a 27.68 in the 200m Destiny Morris finished second in the triple jump in a personal best 10.95m (35-11.25) followed by Ebony Ramos in fifth in the event (10.60m/34-9.5). Calicia Burke came in third in the long jump (5.24m/17-2.25). Melanie Porterfield finished fourth in the 100m hurdles (14.75) and fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:07.65) William Murphy led the men's side with a top preliminary time in the 110m hurdles, running in an IC4A qualifying time of 14.54 seconds. He finished fifth in the finals (15.38). He also finished third in the 200m (22.58). Duncan Bitok came in second in the open 800m (1:54.24) while Alfred Korir placed a fraction of a second behind in third (1:54.37). Aidan Walsh ran the 1600m in 4:08.99, good for third. The Knights are next in action at the Lafayette Quad Meet in Easton, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, March 30. *
