Dana White Named NEC Rookie of the Week
Knights' sophomore wins shot put at VCU Invite with ECAC-qualifying mark

SOMERSET, NJ – Fairleigh Dickinson University sophomore Dana White (Camden, NJ/Camden) earned Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for women’s outdoor track after winning the shot put at the Virginia Commonwealth Invitational last weekend with a toss of 14.15 meters (46’-5.25”).

With the winning throw, the first year collegiate competitor qualified for ECAC’s in her very first outdoor meet and rose to the top of the NEC’s Top 15 List by over five feet.  White also finished eighth in the 100m hurdles, running a 15.66 in the preliminaries and 16.18 in the finals.  The versatile rookie also competed in the 200m (27.39) and helped the Knights to a fifth place showing in the 4x100m relay (49.77).

Earlier during the indoor season White earned her first NEC Rookie of the Week honor.  At the 2002 NEC Indoor Championships she placed third in the shot put (41’-6.5”) and helped the 4x400m relay team to an eighth place finish.

The Knights return to action this Saturday, March 30th when they compete at the Lafayette Quad Meet.
