DICKINSON DEFEATS SACRED HEART IN FOUR GAMES
Sharon Becker Records Career-Highs in 18 kills and 33 digs
Hackensack,
NJ –
The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s volleyball team (8-8,
2-3 NEC) defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers (6-15, 1-3 NEC) in four
games: 24-30, 30-21, 30-28, 30-26.
The
Knights dropped game one but rebounded in the second game to steal
momentum and go on to battle with the Pioneers through three more
action-filled games. Combined
the two teams had over 400 attack attempts and over 200 digs.
Posting
career-high in kills and digs for the Knights was Sharon Becker
(Dumont, NJ/Paramus Catholic) who had 18 kills and an amazing 33
digs. Allison Picker
(San Rafael, CA/Marin Academy) tallied 12 kills and six blocks.
Trisha Nunnenkamp (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) had nine kills
and 29 digs while Randi Kluemper (Allentown, PA/William Allen)
had six kills, 15 digs and 53 assists in the four games.
Sacred
Heart’s Amanda Ayers (Hicksville, NY) had team-highs of 16 kills,
26 digs and three service aces while three other Pioneers also
tallied kills-digs double-doubles.
Setter Kate Sammon (Bellmore, NY) registered 55 assists and
20 digs.
The
Knights are next in action when they travel to La Salle on Sunday,
October 28th for a 12:00 pm match.
