Dickinson Defeats Quinnipiac in Four Games
Knights
secure no lower than fifth seed in NEC Tournament
Hamden,
Conn.
– After dropping the first game by a score of 30-21, the Fairleigh
Dickinson University volleyball team took three straight games to
win 3-1 over host Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon. The Knights took the final three games, 30-26, 30-18 and
30-21. In the process
Fairleigh Dickinson clinched a spot in next weekend’s Northeast
Conference Tournament.
After
a seesaw affair in game two, the Knights breezed through the third
and fourth games. Fairleigh
Dickinson was paced by Allison Picker’s (San Raphael, Calif.)
13 kills and .522 hitting percentage.
Picker made just one error in 23 attempts.
Trisha Nunnenkamp (Merrick, N.Y.) and Sharon Becker
(Dumont, N.J.) added 14 and 12 kills respectively.
Randi Kluemper (Allentown, Pa.) put up 46 assists.
The
Knights will close out the regular season on November 11, at Central
Connecticut State at 1:00 p.m.
