Dickinson Defeats Lafayette and Drexel in Tri-Match
Knights hit .230 and serve 27 aces over eight
games
HACKENSACK,
NJ – The
Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s volleyball team (6-5)
defeated Lafayette in three games and Drexel in a five-game battle
to post a four-match win streak.
The
Knights, who upset Manhattan in three games on Friday, continued
their formidable defense and smashing offense, hitting .248 in three
games (30-23, 30-26, 30-24) against Lafayette.
Trisha Nunnenkamp (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) blasted a
game-high 15 kills on 29 attempts.
Sharon Becker (Dumont, NJ/Paramus Catholic) added 11
kills and led with 12 digs. Setter
Randi Kluemper (Allentown, PA/William Allen) served up five
of the team’s 14 aces in the match and added 36 assists and four
digs.
Kluemper
continued her assault with eight service aces against Drexel, almost
tallying a triple-double with 54 assists and 15 digs.
Becker and Nunnenkamp each had a kills-digs
double-double with Becker registering a career-high 24 digs. Carli
Kaminska (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) came in with 11 kills
and five blocks.
The
Knights are next in action on Saturday, October 6th when
they host Wagner for their Northeast Conference opener at 1:00 pm
