Dickinson Volleyball Player Earns Second
NEC Rookie of the Week Honor
TEANECK,
N.J. – The Fairleigh
Dickinson University volleyball team had a 2-1 week, including two
important Northeast Conference wins and leading the way for the
Knights over the week was sophomore Sharon Becker (Dumont,
NJ/Paramus Catholic), who was named NEC Rookie of the Week for
her performance.
Becker
earns her second NEC Rookie of the Week honor after recording 24
kills, 39 digs, three assists, one block and two service aces last
week. She posted six
kills and eight digs in a non-conference loss at La Salle (3-0) to
start the week. In
conference wins over St. Francis (NY) (3-1) and Long Island (3-0),
she tallied 12 kills and 16 digs versus the Terriers and six kills
and 15 digs against the Blackbirds.
On the year, Becker leads the Knights in kills per
game (2.79) and digs per game (4.35), and ranks eighth in the nation
in digs per game through matches of October 28th.
