Randi Kluemper Named to Verizon Academic All-America District 2 Volleyball Team
Senior setter led team in three categories while earning 3.49 grade point average in biology

Towson, Md. – Fairleigh Dickinson University’s senior setter Randi Kluemper (Allentown, PA) was named to the 2001 Verizon Academic All-America District 2 Volleyball Team. A four-year letterwinner, two-year co-captain and three-time Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll awardee, Kluemper is no stranger to success both on the court and in the classroom.

Kluemper has started in all 82 games for the Knights this season, running the offense for a team that posted a 12-11 overall record and a 5-4 conference mark.  Fairleigh Dickinson finished fourth in the Northeast Conference this season and took the top-seeded Central Connecticut State Blue Devils to four-games before falling in the semifinals of the NEC Tournament on Saturday, November 17th.

Earlier in the season Kluemper received her very first NEC Player of the Week honor, after leading the Knights to three victories in which she averaged 11.2 assists, 2.6 digs and 1.4 service aces.  Twice this season she has been one kill away from posting a triple-double with double-digit assists and digs.

In 2001 she led the team in hitting percentage (.267), assists (9.20 per game) and service aces (0.49 per game).  Kluemper was third in digs with 2.78 per game. She concludes her career fourth on the all-time assist list with 1,275 and fifth on the all-time service aces list with 140.

A biology major with a 3.49 grade point average, she tutors her classmates in organic chemistry and is active with the campus Student Athletic Advisory Committee and community service projects.  Kluemper plans to get her master’s as a physician’s assistant after graduation and work in orthopedic surgery.
