Dickinson Volleyball Falls to Wagner in three games in NEC Opener

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s volleyball team (6-6,
0-1 NEC) opened Northeast Conference competition with a three-game
loss to Wagner (2-15, 1-0 NEC): 24-30, 28-30, 28-30.
The
Knights, previously on a four-game win streak, struggled defensively
from game one and committed eight service errors on the afternoon.
Wagner managed a .224 hitting percentage as a team.
Knights
Trisha Nunnenkamp (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) and Sharon Becker
(Dumont, NJ/Paramus Catholic) tallied kills-digs double-doubles.
Nunnenkamp led Fairleigh Dickinson with 11 kills and
added 16 digs to move into a tie for second on the all-time career
digs list with 1,349. Becker
had 10 kills and a game-high 18 digs, adding two service aces.
Setter Randi Kluemper (Allentown, PA/William Allen) had
35 assists and 12 digs.
Jennine
Porter (Calabasas, CA/Westlake) led the Seahawks’ offense with 13
kills on 23 attempts. Beth
Hayes (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot) came in with 11 kills and 13 digs
while setter Jessica Vega (Chester, NY/Monroe Woodbury) had 41
assists.
The
Knights are next in action when they take to the road for their
Pennsylvania trip, traveling to Robert Morris on Saturday, October
13th for a 1:00pm match and then to St. Francis (PA) on
Sunday the 14th for a 2:00pm match.
