Knights Go 1-2 at St. John's Classic
Trisha Nunnenkamp named to All-Tournament Team

JAMAICA, NY -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team finished the two-day St. John's Classic with a 1-2 record, losing to host St. John's and Princeton before sweeping thee games from Vermont. Trisha Nunnekamp (Merrick, NY) led the team with 47 digs over the three matches, earning All-Tournament team honors.

Fairleigh Dickinson lost to St. John's in three games: 26-30, 13-30, 28-30. Four Knights tallied double-digit kills, led by 17 from Sharon Becker (Dumont, NJ). Setter Randi Kluemper (Allentown, PA) tallied four kills on nine attempts, adding 14 assists, three service aces and 10 digs.

The Knights also fell in three games to Princeton: 21-30, 12-30, 24-30 before earning their first win of the season with a three-game defeat of Vermont: 30-15, 30-10, 30-24.

Against Vermont, the Knights had a .208 hitting percentage in addition to 18 service aces. Nunnenkamp led the team with 14 digs, adding six kills. Becker and Allison Picker (San Rafael, CA) each tallied seven kills. Carli Kaminska (Clarence Center, NY) and Nicole Farrell (Warwick, NY) served up four aces apiece.

The Knights next travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Drexel Invitational, Friday, September 14th and Saturday, September 15th. The team will face Lafayette on Friday at 2pm and La Salle and Drexel on Saturday, 9am and 2pm, respectively.
