Natallia Marchanka Named to All-Met Women's Basketball Team
Knights' sophomore collects second post-season award

New York, NY -- Fairleigh Dickinson University sophomore and starting guard for the women’s basketball team Natallia Marchanka (Rechitsa, Belarus) was named to the All-Met Division I Women’s Basketball Second Team following a vote of area head coaches. Marchanka was one of four Northeast Conference players among the 11 selected to the first and second teams.

In guiding Fairleigh Dickinson to the NEC Tournament for the second straight season, Marchanka led the Knights and finished second in the league in scoring with 17.3 points per game.  Marchanka, who ended the season ranked in the NEC top-ten in seven categories, placed fourth in the conference in made three-pointers (56), fifth in assists (4.8 apg) and sixth in steals (2.0 spg), all top marks for the Knights.  She was the only sophomore named to the All-NEC First Team, becoming FDU’s first-ever second-year player to earn the recognition.

Named to the All-Met first team were Long Island junior forward Tamika Dudley, Monmouth senior forward Michelle Cappadona and Wagner senior center Meredith Kerns. Other area players named to the All-Met first team were Stony Brook sophomore forward Sherry Jordan and Manhattan sophomore forward Rosalee Mason. St. Peter's College senior forward Felicia Harris was named the All-Met Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year and Peahens head coach Mike Granelli, who led the team to the NCAA Tournament, was named the All-Met Division I Coach of the Year.

Rounding out the second team were Rutgers senior forward Davalyn Cunningham, Fairfield junior guard Schrene Isidora, Army sophomore forward Katie MacFarlane and St. Peter's junior center Taneasha Seaton.

The All-Met Division I Women's Basketball team will be honored at the 69th Annual NIT/MBWA Dinner to be held on Wednesday, April 24 at Pegasus West in the Meadowlands Race Track. Cocktails begin at 6 pm, with a dinner and awards program beginning at 7 pm.
