Kanesha Wright Earns NEC Rookie of the Week
Knights' freshman averages almost double-double on week

SOMERSET, NJKanesha Wright (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling), a Fairleigh Dickinson freshman and 6-2 center, earned her first Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week award.

Wright earns her first NEC Rookie of the Week honor after averaging nearly a double-double with 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds last week. She also shot 75.0% from the floor, converting 12-of-16 field goal attempts, and added 3 assists and 2 steals on the week. In the Knights loss to LIU, she tallied 13 points and 9 rebounds and in the win over Quinnipiac, Wright recorded her second double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds. In her last four games, Wright is averaging double-digits in scoring (11.2 ppg), is shooting 65.5% from the floor and has grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game. She has started in the Knights’ last 17 games, scoring in double-digits six times on the season.
