Knights Come From Behind To Beat Blackbirds

For the first time since last Februay, FDU earned back-to-back wins by taking an 84-74 decision at Long Island. Down by 15 points with eight minutes to go, the Knights ran up a 31-7 streak against the Blackbirds, scoring 13 unanswered points from 3:53 to 0:16.

The 53 points the Knights scored in the second half were more than the team had scored in six full games this season. In fact the team had averaged 55.2 points per game prior to the LIU victory. The last time the Knights 84 points or more in a game was in late December of the 1996-97 season, with a 92-54 victory over Robert Morris.

Five FDU players scored in double-digits, led by 17 points apiece from Karen Tiedemann and Natallia Marchanka. Leading the team with six rebounds and adding four assists, Marchanka earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors for her outstanding play. Tommica Woods dished seven assists to move her career total to 240, good to tie for 8th on the all-time list.
