FDU Dominates Robert Morris, 81-44

Hackensack, New Jersey­ The Robert Morris Colonials jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first two minutes but the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights responded with a 16-3 run to go up by eight and didn't look back. The rest of the first half FDU allowed just three more Colonial field goals. The Knights extended their lead in the second, going up as many as 43 points (74-31) with 4:31 remaining in the game.

The Knights out-shot the Colonials 50% to 28% for the game and out-rebounded them 48-39. FDU had a season-high 25 assists in the game and only committed three turnovers in the first half.

Leading all scorers was FDU's Karen Tiedemann (Fallston, MD/Fallston), who scored 13 first half points on route to 17 points on the night (8-14 from the field). She added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 32 minutes. Betsy Blom (Forest Hill, MD/C. Milton Wright) scored 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Melanie Prol (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds and Natallia Marchanka (Rechitsa, Belarus) had 11 points and a career-high seven assists.

Sarah Grazier (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) was the only Colonial to score in double-digits, tallying a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Candace John (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) scored nine points and added six rebounds.

The Robert Morris Colonials fall to 3-14 on the season, 0-8 in the NEC. FDU improves to 5-12 overall, 4-4 in the NEC. The Knights next host St. Francis (PA) on Saturday, January 27th for a 2:00pm game. Prior to the game, at 12 noon, will be the annual women's basketball Alumni Game.
