Knights lose at Monmouth, 78-67

The Knights dropped a 67-78 decision at Monmouth, having defeated the Hawks in the Rothman Center earlier this season. Six ties and six changes occurred in the first half. With the Knights down by three with less than a minute to go in the first, two jumpers from Melanie Prol put FDU ahead 35-34 going into halftime.

Four straight Monmouth points to open the second half put the Hawks up for good. FDU came within one point, 56-57, with 7:37 to go in the game when Monmouth's Amanda Rosato scored six straight points. The Knights could not recover despite the Hawks connecting on just 7-of-13 free throws as FDU sent them to the line.

Prol finished with a career-high 21 points on 10-17 shooting and added eight rebounds and four assists in a full 40 minutes. Karen Tiedemann and Natallia Marchanka both scored in double digits for the seventh straight game with 19 and 12 points respectively. Each added six rebounds. Tommica Woods scored nine points, dished out six assists and recorded five steals.
