PROL LEADS IN HOME OPENER

The Knights dropped their home opener, a 53-73 loss to the Hartford Hawks. Hartford took an early lead and led by as many as 12 in the first with the help of three-point baskets from four different players. The game moved quickly as the teams combined to commit 26 turnovers and shoot 45% in the opening session.

Hartford took an eight-point cushion, 34-26, going into the locker room. In the second half the Hawks continued their hot shooting from inside and outside the arc, finishing the game 9-of-12 from downtown. FDU shot 34.8% from the field in the second half and tried to take advantage of nine trips to the charity stripe. The Hawks slowly increased their lead and won with a big lead of 20 points.

Melanie Prol scored a team-high 14 points (6-11 from the field) and led the team in rebounding for the second consecutive time with six boards. She added three steals in 27 minutes. Karen Tiedemann finished with six points, six assists and three rebounds. Nevin Caple had a game- and career-high four steals in a career-high 24 minutes.
