FRESHMAN KOZLOWSKI LEADS IN SCORING

The Knights trailed from start to finish, getting as close as nine points (31-40) with14:19 remaining, but eventually dropping a 56-70 decision to the Owls of Temple.

Temple shot 56% in the opening session, using an 8-0 run followed soon by a 6-0 run to put them up 33-24 at the half. FDU was kept within striking distance with its hot shooting from behind the arc, connecting on 4-of-6 treys in the first half. The Owls stretched their lead to as many as 28 points (65-37) with 5:18 to go but the Knights would finish on a 19-5 run to close the game.

With their most balanced offensive campaign of the season, FDU saw no Knight score in double-digits. Freshman Jennifer Kozlowski, kept scoreless in the first half, led the team with nine points, scoring seven in the last five minutes of the game. Three players scored eight points including freshman Courtney Tierney who had previously played a total five minutes on the season. In 15 minutes of action Tierney connected on two of three treys and hit both free throws adding two assists and a steal. Nevin Caple rejected a career-high three shots, scoring seven points and pulling down six boards.

The Knights were kept to their lowest shooting percentage of the season, 31.7% but connected on a season-high 6-of-12 three pointers. FDU remains hot at the free throw line, going 12-15 on the night.
