RAMS OUTSHOOT KNIGHTS

The Knights quest for their first home win was shattered as the Rhode Island Rams came back from an early first half deficit to tie the score at halftime, 32-32, and then out-shoot and out-rebound the Knights in the second half to win 75-55.

FDU had an eight-point lead, 20-12, at the 10:20 mark in the first when over the next six minutes, the Rams came back to tie the game with the help of a trifecta of three-point bullets from Ram freshman Lindsey OšNeill. The game was knotted at 32 going into halftime.

Rhode Island opened the second half on a 14-4 run. The Knights were able to get as close as six, 50-56, with 5:50 to go but would not get any closer as they were hampered with 32% shooting from the field in the closing session. The Rams went on to score 19 more points over the last minutes while the Knights were held to just two more field goals.

Leading all scorers was Rhode Islandšs OšNeill with 27 points on 7-11 shooting from downtown. Two Knights scored in double-digits as Melanie Prol led in scoring for the third consecutive game and in rebounding for the fourth time this season (15 points, 8 rebounds). Nevin Caple broke three career marks in the contest: 12 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes. She went a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line in the first half and finished the game 10-11.
