UMASS SHOOTS DOWN FDU
The Knights dropped a 47-69 decision to the Minutewomen in the consolation game of St. Peteršs Tournament. There were four ties and five lead changes in the first half, with neither team getting more than a four point lead.
The game was tied at 17 apiece at the 4:27 mark when UMass took a 12-2 run for a 10 point lead going into the lockerroom. Although the Knights improved their shooting in the second half, it was not enough compared to the 58.6% that UMass shot to sink FDU into a deeper deficit.
For the second time this season no Knight tallied double-digit points. Karen Tiedemann led with nine points and four rebounds. Lauryn Ruby notched her first career start, playing a career-high 29 minutes and registering a team-high four boards. Tommica Woods recorded four assists, moving into 10th on the all time list with 226.
