Knights Fall To Quinnipiac, 62-56
The Knights jumped to an early lead 12-7 at the 14:55 mark in the first half, on two made free throws by Natallia Marchanka. FDU extended its lead to a 20-15 cushion with 10:04 remaining in the first half before the Quinnipiac Braves answered back with a 13-4 run and took a 28-24 lead with 3:35 to go in the first.
The Braves went into halftime with a 34-29 lead. Quinnipiac opened its lead to 14 points, 50-36 with 10:34 to go.The Knights, utilizing a full court press, fought back to within one point, 53-54 on two made free throws by Karen Tiedemann with 3:29 remaining in the game.FDU committed a season-low 13 turnovers while forcing Quinnipiac to the second- highest opponent turnovers on the season, 26. The Knights struggled from the field, shooting 32.8% overall and connecting on just 4-of-19 from downtown.
Tiedemann led the Knights in scoring for the 10th time in the past 12 games, with 18 points. Melanie Prol recorded her seventh double-double of the season and second in a row with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She now stands at 992 career points and 649 career rebounds. Marchanka finished with 16 points, six steals, five assists and three rebounds.
