Hackensack, N.J. -- Senior Karen Tiedemann (Fallston, Md.) scored a career-high 26 points and senior Melanie Prol (Sparta, NJ), who scored her 1000th career point on Monday, registered a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Fairleigh Dickinson University (11-15, 10-7 NEC) to a 92-83 victory over Mount St. Mary's (13-13, 12-5 NEC) tonight.
The win over the league-leading Mountaineers keeps the Knights' post-season hopes alive. Tiedemann connected on 12-of-21 from the field to pace an offense that scored its most points since the season opener of the 1996-97 season. Prol hit on 7-of-13 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line for her eighth double-double of the year. Two other Knights posted career-high point totals as Nevin Caple (Baltimore, Md.) chipped in 19 points and Natallia Marchanka (Rechitsa, Belarus) poured in 17 points. Kia Williams posted a career-high 30 points for Mount St. Mary's. Adrienne Harris also added 19 points for the Mountaineers. Tiedemann scored 19 of her 26 points in a see-saw of a first half.

FDU built another seven-point lead at 35-28 with just under a minute to go in the half, but the Mountaineers closed it out with a 7-0 run, including five points from Kia Williams, to knot the game at 35-35 at the break.
The second half saw four more lead changes before the Knights began to pull away with a nine-point lead at 73-64 with 5:02 left. Leading by a 78-75 margin with just 2:42 left, the Knights went on an 8-1 spurt, fueled by four points from Prol, to pull ahead 86-76 with :50 remaining. The Mount cut the gap to five at 88-83 with :19 to go, but thatıs as close as they would get.
The win is the Knights' fourth in their last five games, fifth in their last seven and seventh in their last 10. They will close out the regular season on Saturday, February 24, when they host UMBC at 4:30 p.m. as part of a double-header with the menıs team.
