DICKINSON FALLS IN OVERTIME, 2-1 TO BINGHAMTON

Aubrey McCullough Scores in fourth straight game

The Fairleigh Dickinson women’s soccer team (5-10) dropped a 2-1
overtime decision to Binghamton (10-4-2) at University Stadium.
The
Knights got on the scoreboard first with Aubrey McCullough’s
(Forked River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) ninth goal of the season but was
forced into overtime where the Bearcats tallied the game winner in
just 20 seconds.
McCullough
tallied the Knights’ lone score of the contest fifteen minutes into
the game off an assist from Kelly Geraghty (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka)
to give Fairleigh Dickinson the 1-0 lead over the Bearcats.
With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first session, Deli
Plourde (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehoah) scored for Binghamton to tie
the game. A scoreless
second half sent the game into overtime where Amanda Norman
(Middletown, NY/Orange County CC) scored just 20 seconds in to stretch
Binghamton’s unbeaten streak to eight.
Fairleigh
Dickinson goalkeeper Megan McDonnell (Richmond Hill, NY/Cardozo)
made five saves while Bearcats’ keeper Lauren Cherry (Wyncote,
PA/Cheltenham) had to make just two stops to get the win.
The
Knights host Central Connecticut for the 2001 season finale on Sunday,
October 28th for a 1:00pm match.
