NEW YORK — Meredith Corkery scored three times to lead Columbia to a 3-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson at Columbia Soccer Stadium. The Knights fell to 2-8 on the year, while Columbia improved to 8-2.

Corkery first struck at 33:55 when Heather Burke served a ball from the left side to the junior forward, who turned and scored on a low shot from six yards out in the box. Just over 15 minutes into the second half, she made it 2-0 on a low pass from Tara Davis, who was inside the top center of the box. At 69:58, Corkery got her third, knocking the ball into the goal on a sliding shot, assisted by Erica Woda and Cori Cassens.

Fairleigh Dickinson got on the board at 81:02 on a breakaway by Aubrey McCullough assisted by Angela Caruso.

The Knights return to action on October 12, when they play LIU on the road in a Northeast Conference contest at 7:00 p.m.
