Knight Goalkeeper Megan McDonnell Makes Six Saves Against Jaspers

HACENSACK, NEW JERSEY -- In a three period scrimmage against Manhattan College, the Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision.

The Knights fell short early on a direct kick fifteen minutes into the first half. The Jaspers then headed a rebound off Knight goalkeeper Megan McDonnell (Richmond Hill, NY) into the net for a 2-0 advantage. The match was scoreless for the next forty minutes until Manhattan scored its third, fourth, and fifth goals, each five minutes apart.

Two freshmen--Kristin Habenicht (New Hyde Park, NY) and Aubrey McCullough (Forked River, NJ)--each had two shots for the Knights. Sophomores Kelly Geraghty (Elmont, NY) and Amber McCullough (Forked River, NJ) made one shot each while McDonnell stopped six shots.

Manhattan out-shot Fairleigh Dickinson 16-6 and took seven corner kicks compared to the Knights one opportunity.

Fairleigh Dickinson will host Iona College for a scrimmage at 4:00pm on Saturday, August 25th before they open the season at Seton Hall on Friday, August 31st at 1:00pm.
