Dickinson Women's Soccer Drops Scrimmage with Manhattan, 5-0

McDonnell Makes Six Saves Against Jaspers
HACENSACK, NEW
JERSEY -- In a three period scrimmage against Manhattan College, the
Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision.
The Knights fell
short early on a direct kick fifteen minutes into the first half.
The Jaspers then headed a rebound off Knight goalkeeper Megan McDonnell
(Richmond Hill, NY) into the net for a 2-0 advantage. The match was
scoreless for the next forty minutes until Manhattan scored its third,
fourth, and fifth goals, each five minutes apart.
Two freshmen--Kristin
Habenicht (New Hyde Park, NY) and Aubrey McCullough (Forked River,
NJ)--each had two shots for the Knights. Sophomores Kelly Geraghty
(Elmont, NY) and Amber McCullough (Forked River, NJ) made one shot
each while McDonnell stopped six shots.
Manhattan out-shot
Fairleigh Dickinson 16-6 and took seven corner kicks compared to the
Knights one opportunity.
Fairleigh Dickinson
will host Iona College for a scrimmage at 4:00pm on Saturday, August
25th before they open the season at Seton Hall on Friday, August 31st
at 1:00pm.
