DICKINSON WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS 3-0 TO SACRED HEART
Megan McDonnell makes seven saves in losing
effort
Fairfield,
Conn. –
The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s soccer team (0-5, 0-3
NEC) dropped a 3-0 decision to Sacred Heart (3-4, 3-0 NEC) in
Northeast Conference action.
The
Pioneers struck first by converting a corner kick at the 9:30 mark and
followed it with another goal at 13:49 to take a quick 2-0 advantage.
The Knights could not respond as Sacred Heart went on to score
one more goal at 67:40 before taking their third NEC victory.
Sophomore
goalkeeper Megan McDonnell (Richmond Hill, NY/Cardozo) stopped
seven shots while Sacred Heart’s net-minder needed four saves for
the win.
The
Knights will have their home opener against UMBC on Friday, September
28th at 4:00pm and will face Mt. St. Mary’s on Sunday,
September 30th at 1:00pm.
