Fairleigh Dickinson Women’s Tennis Splits on Opening Weekend
Knights take Mount, 5-2, after falling to St. Francis (PA), 6-1.

Blair, Pa. – ­ The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s tennis team opened up the spring season this weekend with a pair of matches against NEC opponents at the Blair Racquet Club.  The Knights fell to host St. Francis (PA) by a score of 6-1, on Saturday.  They bounced back with a 5-2 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday.  Fairleigh Dickinson’s record on the year moved to 2-3.
     The Knights took the top four singles matches against the Mount and won two-of-three doubles matches for the fifth point.  Lorena Parra captured her first single match with the Knights in the number one spot.  Marisa Puga won at number two singles, followed by Elina Magid at third singles and Katerina Perlova at fourth singles.  Puga and Magid teamed up for the win at first doubles, while Parra and Perlova paired for victory at second doubles.
     Puga was the Knights’ lone singles winner on Saturday against the Red Flash.  Puga and Magid also combined for a win at first singles.
     The Knights will take to the courts again on March 18th, when they face Southeast Missouri State on their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
