Women’s Tennis Falls at Long Island, 6-1
Parra wins at first singles, teams up with Magid for doubles victory.

New York, N.Y. – ­ The Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to host Long Island University on Saturday at the Wall Street Racquet Club.  Fairleigh Dickinson’s record on the year now stands at 2-4.

The Knights got their point from Lorena Parra at first singles.  Parra defeated Anixa Almeyda in the top spot, 6-3, 6-1. Parra also teamed up with Elina Magid to win at first doubles.  The duo knocked off Ellen Anolin and Annaicris Garcia, 8-1, but Long Island won at second doubles and took third doubles by default to earn the point.

 Fairleigh Dickinson returns to action on March 18th against Southeast Missouri State in Hilton Head, S.C.
