The "Classic Soul Blowout"
is THE show for people who love the soulful sounds of Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Aretha
Franklin, and the Temptations. But there's a difference; Host Richard Sibello also plays
the rare grooves you're not hearing anywhere else; tunes that other so-called
"classic soul" stations haven't been able to track down. How is this possible?
Sibello is a record collector dedicated to finding and preserving the great soul sounds.
From his massive collection of over 11,000 singles, he pulls ALL of the great soulful
tunes for your listening pleasure. The "Classic Soul Blowout" truly is a deeper
shade of soul. Tune in now!
Biography
Richard Sibello was born in 1969 in Newark NJ. As a child his favorite toy was a
phonograph, along with the records his parents gave him. His interest in radio grew when
his father introduced him to the old reel-to-reel tapes he'd made in the 1960's of Cousin
Brucie, Scott Muni, and Dan Ingram on WABC-AM. "After that," says Rich, "I
was hooked." Richard not only began collecting records at a furious pace (by age 14,
he had over 1,000 45's in his collection) but also collected information about the songs,
the artists, and even the actual records themselves. Just to show people he really does
have a life, Richard also enjoys hiking, theater (he can be seen in many productions in
the Westfield-Cranford-Summit area) and screaming his head off to old Otis Clay records.
