Station Management
|
Carl J. Kraus was appointed General Manager of WFDU(FM) in December of 1980. He
began his broadcast career in 1974 and has held operational, engineering, news and
management positions with several New York stations including WPAT and WNEW. He is a
member of The Radio Club of America and Sigma Delta Chi ( The Society of Professional

Barry Sheffield has been a New York City Metro area veteran
broadcaster and programming pro since 1970. Currently, he is
Assistant Director of Telecommunications at the Metropolitan Campus
of Fairleigh Dickinson University. In that capacity he is the
Program Director / Operations Manager of WFDU-FM. Barry can also
teach a thing or two - having been a professor of radio and TV
broadcasting, public speaking and drama for 15 years. As a 1974 FDU graduate, Barry takes
particular pride in guiding the radio station he helped establish in 1971.
Barry cut his broadcast teeth at WXLO - 99X, answering the request line. But his obvious
talent at engineering, production, and on-air talk had management making a request of
their own. He soon joined the professional ranks - and didn't leave New York for nearly
two decades. The list of stations that benefited from his expertise include: WXLO-99X,
WOR-AM, The RKO Radio Networks, WNBC-AM, and the the CBS Radio-Radio Network.
Barry
also hosts WFDU's The Beatles: 2 by 4 on
Sundays from 11am to 1pm and Let There be
Country on Thursdays from 9am to 1pm.
