Welcome to my page. I am a Fairleigh Dickinson University student in New Jersey. I came from Japan five years ago. Since then, I have learned a lot from United States' culture. Because I live in the United States, I found new value in things that is native to my country. Today, I am going to introduce my favorite things in few web pages. I hope you will read thourough my page and get a feel of my character.
My favorite flower:
- Bleeding heart was born in Japan. It has a unique shape like a heart splitted in the middle. The size of the flower is about 1 inch in rose pink, red or white colors.
- The uniqe shape of this flower attacts people of various cultures. I can even find this flower in local gardening shops where many people native to this country come to buy flowers of the season.
- Bleeding heart lasts for years, which requires dividing the plant in 3-4 years. This plant takes 2 years to mature. It will become about 2 or 3 feet long.
My favorite tree:
- This is a Cherry Blossom tree, which is also called sakura in Japanese.
Whenever I see Cherry Blossoms, I feel the beauty of spring season.- There is the National Cheery Blossom Festival in Washington DC. A mayor of Tokyo gave the trees in 1912. The trees were planted in the shore of Tidal Basin, and they are still there.
- There are many other botanical gardens and parks that have Cherry Blossoms. Some of them hold Cherry Blossom festivals too!
I think nature speaks for all. These flowers not only bring happiness to our feelings but also make us think about uniqueness of Japan.
